Overpriced with Distracting 3M Stamp, though definitely does the job The adhesive is impressive. It adheres well and the adhesive isn't distracting. Please note the accessories are packaged poorly and stuck inside the cardboard. I couldn't find all the adhesive options, but they were there Most disappointing is the DISTRACTING 3M imprinted logo on the screen! It is in the middle of my bookmarks bar. Also, the price gouging for the quality is short of offensive. I will return. 3Works well I brought this to use with my work laptop. Normally I get this along with laptop from work, but this time I just go one myself. The adhesives that came along with this unit were not sticking well, but I moved them around and they are still there. The filter itself is great. Works like a charm. Those nosy passenger next to you in the airplane has to move their head in front of the screen to see anything, which most of them dont! :) 5Works as advertised, even when I forget it's even there I have to use this as I work on some confidential info during work travel. It works as advertised though, and becomes unreadable at different angles. You can see it if you are directly behind, but because I'm using a laptop with fairly refined resolution, it would be hard to read that without sitting on my lap.The best thing about this is that I sometimes forget it's even there. When I'm trying to share something with colleagues, they all ask me what they should be looking at and I realize that I still have it on. It fortunately is easy to slip on and off, as needed. A big plus. Several colleagues and execs have commented that they should get one too and ask me where to get it, so definitely seems to be a popular item for business/work and dealing with stuff you don't want random strangers to peer at.Ultimately, it's easy to setup by applying the sticker holders which hold the screen on. It is important to measure your screen properly and choose the right filter size. I work off a Dell Latitude E6420, which has the 14.0" widescreen, and that version of the screen fit perfectly.As per above, I've definitely recommended this product repeatedly, and have no doubt it will work out for those who get it. I opted for this over the gold screen (newer version) as it was cheaper, and I saw no need to have a gold reflector of a screen. Enjoy! 5Not worth the money unless you don't want to see what you're doing This privacy protector works so well not even the user can see what they are doing! That's a slight exaggeration but not by much, it is so dark even with the brightness of my laptop turned all the way up, it is really hard to see through it. Also, it throws off color quality enormously so if you need to see correct colors, this isn't for you.Another knock against this is that it's not a film that "sticks" to your screen, you have to stick a bunch of small plastic tabs around the edge of your screen and slide the privacy filter down into the space created. If you are carryign your laptop while closed and it turns even slightly upside down, the filter slides out.I would give this at least 2 stars if not for the price. 1Easy to Install This is very easy to install if you follow the directions. The most important thing you need to do is measure the length and the width of the display area of your monitor don t rely, for example, on the diagonal measurement.To install is straight-forward: carefully peel back the blue stickers that actually contain a clear contact surface and apply them to four points as indicated on the instructions (one each of the corners), then carefully apply it to your monitor. Sure, the contact tape is on your monitor but you can t see it when looking at the screen face-on.The privacy portion is there, which is what you want to keep prying eyes away on what you are working on as they walk up to your desk or, in my case for the laptop, as I am in various public places such as airports or planes. While a little pricey for a thick piece of film, the privacy aspect more than makes up for the cost of materials. If you are looking for a good privacy screen, I would recommend this brand in your appropriate size for your monitor. 5Keeps your laptop safe from prying eyes. Great product. I use this on airplanes and airports. I am able to view company info without prying eyes,. I've had several of these for different laptops. Easy to install--work well.I realized the value of these filters when I could read a row-mate's laptop during a flight years ago. She worked for a "competing" hospital that my wife worked with...I could have easily forwarded some interesting information to my wife..I bought a filter the next day... 5It serves it purpose but eyes hurt What made me decide to purchase this was it provides a filter for my screen and at the same time reduces the glare I get from the monitor. I was excited to use, being 3M is trusted brand, you know the quality of their product is worth your money.The item came well packaged as you would expect from 3M. The filter came in a plastic & in perfect shape and it came with the little stickies to hold the filter in place. it fit all perfectly.The only thing I don't like is that the filter for some reason causes an eye strain. I feel like my vision got a bit blurry from staring at the monitor for few minutes. I had to increase the brightness of my laptop's monitor since it is dynamic, it automatically adjusts to my environment's lighting and increased the font size.It serves it purpose but I don't know if I need to get used to it first or what. I have perfect vision and this definitely affects it. 3Not the same quality as in the past What happened to the curve at the top for your finger to get under it in order to take it off? It's in the picture and I've had it in past versions, but this one is missing it. Also, it's a little on the blurry side and it shows fine lines for both the shiny and matte sides of the screen. This version also doesn't have the typical 3M logo with the size at the top like they usually do which makes me question it's authenticity. I've been using 3M privacy screens for years on a 13.3" screen, so will admit I had high expectations with this new one for my 14" screen. I'll be returning it and trying a different one. 2Gold Standard for Privacy Screen I've only purchased 1 privacy screen and have used it for years. It provides immediate privacy and is easy to install. I've used 3M privacy filters on my last two Dell Laptops and have been nothing but impressed. When my employer upgraded me to a newer model, I came back to 3M for another in the right size. As someone who frequently travels for work, I spent a lot of time typing away in airports, at cafes, and on airplanes. Working with sensitive information, the 3M privacy filter is a must.However, anyone standing directly behind you can see your screen. However, the filter blocks a good portion of the brightness, so it's difficult to read at a glance. In combination with the filter and some common sense, like sitting with your back to a wall whenever possible, your work should be safe from prying eyes.The only reason this doesn't get a five-star review is that the filter collects fingerprints each and every time you remove it from the screen, if you need to show someone what you're working on. And once you do this, you need to set it down, usually collecting a few subtle scratches. But set it down on a piece of paper if handy, and you should be ok. 4
