Great warranty support. I've had this case for 11 months and never thought to write a review despite using it almost everyday. Last week the tab on mine started to split which could've been fixed with a little super glue, but I decided to try roocase's support instead. An email to support with a photo later I had a replacement case in the mail. Their customer support and standing behind their product was amazing so I thought I would write a quick review here.Pros:Good protection including when the outer section is removed.multiple viewing positions (I slip the back into the eye height pocket on united flights and it's perfect for streaming their in flight movies)leather looks professionalremovable section with hand strap for easy lightening when not using it as a stand.Cons:With the shell increases the weight. ( I pop the leather off when laying in bed reading. )The hole for the lightning plugs is tight (or doesn't work) with some third party cables but great for apple provided and slimier 3rd party connectors. 5Sturdy and protective but bulky Updated review:After one year of use, I change my rating from 4 stars to 3. My iPad keeps slipping with this case and it is really frustrating. Only if I put it almost upright it might work. As I mentioned before, it is also really bulky and HEAVY which is a deal breaker.I bought this case for my iPad mini 1. It is pretty sturdy and protective. iPad stands vertically and horizontally without slipping. The magnetite closure works really good and holds the iPad case close. The only drawback is the case bulkier than pictures and slightly heavier than I like.Also the case arrived a week later than the scheduled delivery which was frustrating. 3Money well spent! I LOVE this case!!! It's exactly what I wanted. It props my iPad mini up and is able to rotate vertically, but it hides the apple logo. I'm happy about this because I think the ones that rotate and have that big, bulky circle around the apple sign in the back are so ugly and goofy looking. This has a sleek, folio look and smooth, even feel. I got the grey one. Very professional looking.Bonus! The clip around the iPad detached from the folio cover! Awesome! Not that I'll be taking it off but that's great. I was hesitant to buy a $30 case.......... But I couldn't find one like this anywhere. And I figure I'll only have to buy it once. It seems durable, it's sturdy, and I think Roocase is a good brand, my mom has a phone case from them. Buy this!!UPDATE: the grip bumps for the iPad to prop up are pretty useless. The tablet is too heavy and slides when you try to prop it up, and some of the bubbles have come off. Other than that, this case is holding up very well! 5Great case, lots of features. So far so good. I've only had this case for a few weeks but I love how durable it is. It has everything I was looking for in an iPad case. Magnetic closure, auto sleep/wake with the cover, and 360 swivel for horizontal and vertical viewing. I like that the swivel has points that it clicks into place. It's a little thing, but I just don't like other 360 cases because the swivel part leaves the apple logo on the iPad exposes. It never made any sense to me to have a hole on the back of your case, leaves too much space to get dirty or scratched, etc. The other thing I love is the fact that the shell case is removable and the inner case has a hand strap and kick stands if you want to make it lighter during use. It was a function I didn't even know I wanted! I'll sometimes remove the outer shell to read in bed as it is a little heavy sometimes as other reviewers have notes.Overall, great case at a great price point. The only thing that could make it better for me is cuter designs for the outer shell. 4Good but needs some improvements I like the case ok. The best feature is to be able to turn your iPad to either portrait or landscape. The outside of the case is very nice with a supple polished look. The inside in my opinion is not as well made (from a finishing point of view) it has non slip bumps to hold your iPad in place while using the case in a stand mode. This feature could absolutely be improved as with slight movement your device can slip and fall flat.Lastly the opening at the bottom (the hole) for the charging cable, is way TO small for after market cables. My apple cord was the only one that would allow me to keep the device in the case to charge. I bought three Bolse cloth covered cables for all my devices. But could not use with this case UNTIL a used a small fine grain sand drill bit to enlarge the hole. I actually found my nail drill (think manicure) to work best and in ten minutes and careful work no one can tell I've altered the case. I personally never use the card slots inside the case as they appear they could stretch or damage easily. I bought for use of landscape AND portrait use. 4Great case! Non-Apple charging cables may not fit! I just discovered roocases when I got one for my phone and liked it so much that I decided to get this one for my ipad mini. The case is great in pretty much every way, I haven't run into any of the angling/slipping/clasping issues that the low rating reviews have mentioned so either they were anomalies or the case has been improved based on feedback. The only thing I noticed is that my lightning charger wouldn't fit into the port while the shell was on. Turns out that this was because I have an Amazon Basic lightning cable and the end is slightly thicker, but enough so that it won't work with this case. I got the Amazon Basic cable because it was longer than the default and that's what I needed. I'll just have to rearrange things in order to use my original cable. This is slightly annoying but not enough to give the product less than 5 stars. If they read these to make improvements though, hopefully they will enlarge the charging port hole slightly in the future. 5Great case, wonderful company! Update 6/10/2016: wrote RooCase to see if they could sell me just the magnet and to ask what glue to use. Beverly from RooCase promptly wrote back and said they don't have the magnets. But to my surprise and delight, she confirmed my purchase and address and sent me a new one! And even better, it didn't reek!! I'd give them 10000 stars for thatUpdate: still love the case, but the part that holds the magnet came apart and before I could glue it back together, I lost the magnet :( I have not been able to find a replacement magnet yet so I have to be extra careful to make sure the iPad display is off.We got the case in purple. Beautiful color. The case is just as good as advertised, well made and easy to use. My only quibble is that the case (I think it's the interior) is out gassing quite a strong smell. It's still new so I am hoping it goes away soon. I am sensitive to smells so it might not bother other people. 5I liked the first one so I bought another one This is my second Roocase. I liked the first one so I bought another one. They have improved since my first one. This case uses a hard back cover that the ipad snaps into. Then there is a pinch squeeze device so you can snap the outside cover directly to the hard case then pivot between portrait and horizontal. There is no longer the velcro holding the two parts together. I like that I can change between vertical and horizontal with this case. 5This case falls flat... I really liked this case at first. It has rotation from landscape to portrait, it has magnetic shut-off when you close the case, and the hard shell that holds the ipad mini can be detached from the softer part that folds around it. My only problem with it is that when you set it up to hold the ipad upright for viewing, it slowly slides down. The only angle where this does not occur is if the ipad is set almost 90 degrees from the table. There are little dots of silicon that are supposed to provide friction to keep this from happening, but the dots are way too small and the hard shell is way too curved and smooth. I have had to put two small binder clips on the edge of the bottom flap, just to keep it from sliding down flat. Very frustrating. 3Finally found the right case! After trying about 6 different iPad mini cases, finally found the right one. This one is not too thick, not too thin - it's just right. Has a sturdy feel to it, nice fabric texture (I chose the gray striped fabric), the magnetic closure is secure and works perfectly to sleep/wake the iPad when it closes/opens. best of all, this one rotates. I tried another rotating case that was leather and looked like a vintage book - I really liked it but kept having problems with the magnetic closure, and also it was rather bulky. I also tried another fabric-textured case (can't stand the feel of PUL; don't know why) that had a good magnetic closure with sleep/wake, but that case didn't rotate and it felt too flimsy to really protect the iPad. This case really is the right combination of features. I'm very happy with this purchase; I just wish it hadn't taken 6 other purchase to find this one. If I ever need another iPad mini case, I'll get this exact one again. There are only 2 minor complaints I have: 1) There is a slight bulge on the back where the rotating mechanism is, so it doesn't lie completely flat on a table... nearly flat, and it's hardly noticeable, but it is there. 2) There are some slots on the inside of the front cover for business cards - handy, but I wish there was at least one larger slot for folded sheet of paper or an index card. 5
