Customer Reviews

Not the original If you have one of the older style "original" M-Edge e-Luminator lights, be aware that this one is not at all the same. The shaft below the light itself is much, much smaller, so the light can't be made to cover as much on the page. Also, the plastic molding that holds the battery is not as well made, and sticks terribly - I have 3 of the old ones, and never had this problem, but I had to get out a thin screwdriver to open the battery compartment on this one.It works fine once it's open, and is useful and small, but it is not the same. 3Do not buy this cheap light. You will be disappointed. This thing is terrible. It won't stay upright, constantly falling over to one side or the other. The "touch switch" to turn it on and dim it is extremely sensitive one minute, then won't even turn on the next, where you find yourself trying to mash the switch with your fingers. Used this thing for about 10-20 minutes a night, 3-4 days a week, and it managed to burn through 2 AAA batteries in 2 months. Eventually the tab that slips between the pages broke, making this thing even more useless. Do not buy this cheap light. You will be disappointed. 1Let there be light... and it was good If you use an e-reader without the screen backlight, you need to get this. At prices like these, you really have no excuse not to get one. I have no doubt you are enjoying your Kindle or similar e-reader if you clicked on my review, so let me condense that almost every previous reviewer as written about the e-luminator light - it's a bright and adjustable light for all spot light needs. The E-luminator Touch is an e-reader LED book light made specifically to fit the older m-edge e-reader covers but generically designed enough with a flat clip that can fit thin items like book covers or newspaper. It features a white light with an almost imperceptible bluish tint at the end of flexible and twistable arm. The light itself has three brightness settings allowing to you read your e-reader even in the darkest rooms without bothering any else who might want to sleep or without giving away your position (okay maybe I exaggeration the last one). It is powered by single AAA battery, it will provide light for hours without the bother of searching for a store that sells button batteries and paying the mark-up for a single one of them. It's an awesome light in all its function and operation. When I bought the most inexpensive Kindle to compliment my Fire HD 6 and I knew I would be buying one of these. I am avid reader and usually do it most anytime of the day so being to read at night without having to bother anyone else is mandatory to keeping good relations. Now some of you might be thinking, "Why didn't you buy the Paperwhite?" Well, my answer would be "I don't want to spend that kind of money." I figure that by separating the light source from the Kindle battery, not only could save a couple dollars I might have also increased on the Kindle battery. Perhaps with such cheap looking accessorizing, I am a less attractive target for thieves compared to those who use their iPads publicly. It's a very convenient light, moreso if you are willing to take a chance on buying an inexpensive one from other sources other than Amazon. Arguably there are "better" reading spot light but are they really better? They might need special button batteries, not be adjustable as far as positioning and brightness are concerned. Do things right the first time and think about this light first. 5Nice LED booklight I really love to read. Most of my reading takes place right before bed. I always had to read with the light on which disturb my husband when he was trying to sleep. I finally decided to invest on a book-light. I am so glad I did. I love the small size of it. Gives out enough light to read without disturbing anyone next to you. The three lighting setting are a great feature. All you have to do is tap it and the light will come on. This like is perfect for E-reader, Kindles or books. I love how it will automatically turn off in an hour if not being used. This book light has been a great investment. Love it. 5Great Light For the Kindle or a Regular Book, now at a very low price This is really a great light for night time reading for your Kindle or regular paper book. I have bought many different lights trying to find one that works well without success. I discovered this light on closeout at a local store several months ago. It is now priced under $4 on Amazon and is a great deal. It works so well I bought several as backup. So far they all work well and fit perfectly on my Kindle keyboard and Kindle DX. My wife uses one for reading a book while in bed.Whats good about this light1. Light weight and flexible cable allows easy positioning2. 3 separate light levels. Even the lowest level at times is enough3. Simple clip like arrangement easily slips onto book cover or cover of the Kindle leather cover. Will work on Nook too.4. Even illumination with careful adjustment. Works well on the larger Kindle DX to provide even illumination.5. Long battery life using a standard triple A battery.6. Simple touch control..... just a light touch turns it on and off and adjusts the 3 levels.6. Extremely low price for a quality light. orig suggested price approx. %20 now priced under $4 on Amazon as of current date7. Uses LED technology, so LED light bulb should last a long timeIt's not perfect and no light can match a paper white self illuminated Kindle. It does have some issues to consider.Whats not so great. Some of these issues have been mentioned in other reviews.1. The cover for the battery is a little difficult to remove and does take some force to remove it. It's tight.2. Turning on the light at times seems finicky. Touching hard doesn't work. It needs a very light touch.3..The plastic attachment is thin and fragile and care must be given so that it doesn't break or wear. Normal handling it will last.4. At times I wish it put out more lumens so in a lighted room it could be brighter.5. It works best in darkened room where it is needed the most..6. It will not attach to a kindle without a cover because it requires a thin cover to attach. The clip is like a large flat plastic paper clipIf you need a high quality inexpensive light for night time reading for your Kindle Keyboard, Nook or Kindle DX this is now a great value. You can use your Kindle in total darkness with sufficient light without disturbing a sleeping partner. 5Not the best for actual books. First, I bought this intending to use it with actual books and not e-readers or a tablet, for which it seems to have been designed more. In this application it is an 'okay' product. Three different light settings gives you a little flexibility for power conservation, but with the battery constantly being drained while installed, it really doesn't matter if you go ahead and use the brightest light all the time. If you don't pull the battery out after each use, it will drain in a couple of days regardless. The field of light is great for covering everything up to the size of trade paperbacks, meaning it covers both sides of the book quite completely until you use it for a standard hardcover sized novel. There the light fails to reach the opposite side of the book completely (if you use the light on just one side rather than somewhere near the spine), leaving the corners dark and adjustments having to be made with each new turn of the page. It seems another inch added to the length of the adjustable neck might have spread the light out further with proper adjustment. Again, the brightness is good, but there's just not enough field of light if you intend to use it with larger books. It seems well suited for single surface reading and smaller paperbacks. 3Great book light I like this light it's very bright even thigh it's small. It's nice and lightweight. You can use it with regular books or your e reader it fits Ito my M Edge case perfectly. You can make it dim or bright to adjust to your eyes. My husband likes it because it doesn't keep him up at night if I stay up late reading. I can adjust the angle easy so that it does t face him at all. 5M-Edge e-Luminator it was exactly what i thought .. i had one and it was worn out this was to replace my old one and it is just as the seller described. New , perfect working order. Seller was quick to send item out, came well wrapped, no complaints what so ever. This "ebook light" runs off 1 AAA battery and lasts for the better part of a week or maybe two sometimes depending on how much night time reading you do...i do a lot of night reading .. and it does not disturb the husband. there are 3 settings on the light so you can go from a kind of dim setting to a much brighter light to view you book. it is a wonderful item for some one that reads their Kindle or other ebook in bed. 5Light is just right I really like this book light! It fits my older Kindle Touch case well, and is easy to use. The light actually has several levels of brightness, so I can get it bright enough but not overly bright. It is easy to adjust the light to shine on exactly where it is needed, but it is small enough to keep the light on the page/screen and no where else. This makes it perfect for reading in bed without disturbing the spouse, as well as on airplanes or anywhere else where excess light might disturb others. I have found I prefer reading with this light over reading with a lamp because when I am done reading I can just turn the light off; I don't have to reach to turn the lamp off. Thanks to this light, I am back to reading in bed comfortably. I even found that the light makes a convenient flashlight/night light when nothing else is available. One of my best purchases! 5Shorter light fits better with newer Kindles I just bought this light to replace my older e-Luminator light, which I purchased when I originally got my Kindle Touch. Over time, the catches on the light wear off, so the light doesn't stay at the angle you want it at. I was pleasantly surprised to find that this light, the newer version, is shorter so that it just reaches the bottom of my Kindle Touch, instead of being longer than the kindle, requiring me to curve it into an L shape so it doesn't hang too low. The light reaches the entire page, making it easy to read in the dark. Otherwise, it's the same basic e-Luminator I had before, which fits perfectly into an M-Edge case so I have my reading light with me wherever I go!All in all, I'm pleased with this light! For $6, it's totally worth it, especially if you already have an M-Edge case! 5
