After the death of her husband, the mother moves with the children to return to her parents in an old dilapidated mansion. Once there, she begins to neglect her children, leaving them locked in her room, located just below the attic. She is the only one who comes to them from time to time, but moves further and further away. She seems much more worried about the prospect of the inheritance she will receive when her ailing father dies, to the point where she even considers helping the impending death... This film is called "Flowers in the Attic" in reference to the fake garden they built in the famous attic.
