Philip Green is a highly respected writer who has been hired by a national magazine to write a series on anti-Semitism in America. He does not like the task very much, mainly because he does not know how to approach this topic. But, suddenly, he has an idea: if he pretended to everyone and everyone, introducing himself as a Jew, he could then experience the degree of racism and prejudice that exists in society, and write his story from this point of view. So Philip Green becomes Phil Greenberg. Philip is shocked by the terrible truth. His anger at how he is being treated also influences his romantic relationship with Cathy Lacy, his publisher's niece and the person who offered to write the series in the first place.
