Customer Reviews

Splendour King replacement Purchased this to replace my blown hampton bay ballest (sp?) Class 2 power supply Splendour King Cat #EE055.*knock on wood*, its up and working. 5not very pretty When I first reviewed this item I claimed it was DOA, but I was mistaken. The light fixture had a short so the transformer (this device) blew its fuse-- like it was supposed to. "Short circuit protection", thank you.So my only comment is that it still looks like it was put together with a dull pocket knife. Even the photo looks like a used/refurbished product. It was not confidence inspiring, so I assumed it was faulty and didn't check the fixture before I blasted off a nasty review. 3Replace a Burned out Kichler Under Cabinet Xenon Light Fixture Transformer This transformer was used to replace the one in a Kichler xenon bulb under cabinet light fixture which sells for approximately $100. Kichler does not sell replacement transformers. This item is the same size and is easy to install. The wiring is a direct replacement for the original Kichler connections. To remove the old burned out transformer simply unscrew the various screws used to hold the fixture together so that you can slip a knife under the transformer and pry it off. You may be able to use the existing adhesive remaining on the fixture but, if not, just remove the fragments and use double sided sticky tape to fasten the new transformer down. This transformer works great and I highly recommend it. It helps that the price is right! 5Fixes Kichler Xenon When we remodeled our kitchen a few years ago, we spent a pretty penny from a local lighting showroom on Kichler under counter xenon 12v lighting. In less than a year one of the lights would randomly wink out. Sometimes for days. With some struggle the show room replaced that light. A year later it went out again, and then all but one of the others exhibited the same problem over time. The problem: the transformers. This LET-60 is the perfect replacement at a fraction of the cost of a new fixture. All you need to do is remove a few screws to get to the interior of your light. Make note of roughly where the wires are stuffed so you can get it all fitted again, then untuck them all. Slide a knife under the old transformer and pry up to separate it from the double sided tape. Swap it out for the new LET-60 and stick it back down on the tape. Tuck and reassemble. All done for $14! 5Works like a charm and delivered in two days! One of two pendant lights was randomly turning on and off (mostly off). Once I finally got off my butt to troubleshoot (years later), I found that there wasn't any AC current coming out of the light's transformer - so I looked up the replacement. It was for a Canopy Transformer 50 watt EE055. The only place I could find that had this part (easy coast area, I'm west coast) must still be in the early twentieth century. They never answered their phone and it took 5 days (including Saturday and Sunday) to get back to me through email. Long story short, it would have taken weeks to get the part because I would have had to pay through snail mail first before they would ship it to me.LUCKILY I found this transformer and it met the specifications for the part I needed. I ordered it on Friday and got it two days later on Sunday morning (USPS). It cost me half as much almost, plus free prime shipping. Installed it and presto! So far so good and it's nice to finally see the light ON. The company amazon goes through for this product has their act together. THANK YOU third party vendor and Amazon - Great teamwork.I'm glad I didn't have to replace both lights as it would have cost me at least a hundred dollars to buy new lights and I really like the original lights. 5Not what I ordered and doesn't work well I ACCIDENTALLY ordered this when I really needed was the LET-60LW ( or so I thought).I'm trying to power 8 of Phillips 3 watt LEDs (24W Total)The unit will only power 3. If I add a 4th bulb the lights start flashing like a strobe light.Sometimes the lights will come on and then start flashing after a few minutes or sometimes right away.So far 3 bulbs (9 watts) have been no problem and seem to work without a problem. Not impressed and still trying to decide if I should bother with the hassle of returning 1Easy install works good Other than taking my fixture apart, this was an easy install. This is my 2nd replacement, but I think the first one burnt out early because I used a 120v bulb initially - not a 12v bulb... It didn't work, and burnt out the transformer. Took me a little bit to figure out the bulbs voltage didn't match the original. So, be careful your using the correct bulb. This new one has been installed for about 3 months now with no issues. I won't be able to update this since the house has now been sold, but I can't complain about this product. 5Excellent Kichler replacement I purchased this for an under-cabinet Kichler Xenon fixture, to replace a transformer that that was causing the light to go off at periodic intervals -- apparently a common issue. (Note: Kichler does not sell replacement transformers, and instead tells you to buy a new fixture for about $100.) Installed easily in about 15 minutes by connecting the four wires with existing wire nuts; I was able to re-use the original double-sided foam mounting tape, though others may want to replace it. Has been working perfectly for a week, with no issues. About to purchase a second transformer for an identical fixture that's starting to exhibit the same symptoms. 5Great little unit I purchased some low voltage lights for my new flag pole. I didn't know that they were low voltage and required a really expensive "power supply". Doing some research I discovered that I needed a 12vdc power supply/transformer and not that much wattage or amperage needed. I found this little fella and decided to give it a shot. It says for halogen lights but I'm using it on a LED flood and it works fine. I did a heat test for 24 hours under load and it didn't get hot and worked flawlessly. Now they might not recommend this but I ended up placing this in a weatherproof electrical box with the 12vdc LED threaded into the cover. Wired to a photocell and now I have a clean low voltage light on my house for my flag. 5Replacement for Kichler Under-Cabinet Light I have Kichler under cabinet lights and one unit (10567) stopped working because the transformer burned up, you could smell it. I was concerned that since this transformer is rated at a lower voltage than the Kichler (12.8v) that the light output would not match the other under cabinet lights. Last night I installed it and found the light output matches the other units perfectly. Installation was easy. The two blue wires connected to where the old red wires were and black and white go to their respective colors. I was also concerned that my dimmer would not work equally well with this transformer but the lights dim equally. Great product. Instead of spending $112 for a new unit I was able to repair it, like new, for just about $12. 5
