Customer Reviews

Great Harness Adapter I own a 2001 Subaru Legacy GT (sedan) and wanted to put my old Kenwood deck in the car. This fit the factory plug perfectly! The back of the package also has what each color is for (which is also written on the cables). A few of the cables I did not end up using (dimmer, amp, & power antenna).Just remember this is not totally plug and play. You will need to connect the wires either by crimping them or soldering them together. I went out and bought a wire stripper/crimper and a pack of small wire gauge butt splices from my local hardware store. Took a bit of time to take apart my old wire harness and try to conserve as much of the wire as possible, but all you do is match up the colors and crimp them together.I tested out the front, back, left, and right and all was well. Greta product. Wish it were a bit more plug and play, but I don't suppose I should ever expect them to have the other end of the harness for my specific stereo receiver. 52002 WRX no issues No issues on a 2002 WRX with a Pioneer FH-X731BT. Almost all the wires matched up. The last one or two wire was a given as they were still the same color but with a color stripe. I have zero audio install experience, took 30 min to solder in the harness and install it in the car (not counting taking it out of the car). 5Great harness for new head unit Worked successfully for a 94' Subaru Forester XS.Installed Pioneer MVH-AV290BT 6.2" Double-DIN In-Dash Digital Media A/V Receiver with Bluetooth and wired this harness to that head unit using Posi-Products Posi-Twist Wire Connectors 18-26 gauge, and it was crazy simple.Match the colors from the harness to the colored wires of the head unit, and had no issues. Not much to report on this one, but it was a success, and made installing the new head unit super simple. 5As close to OEM as it gets. Exactly like the one it replaced. Wires are correct size and good quality. 5as it had a better stereo/ CD player I was trying to do a radio swap from my old car to the new one, as it had a better stereo/ CD player. This plug made the job way easier. Forget using the existing cable, as the colors change from the vehicle to the old radio, making the job a nightmare. For a few bucks, this is the way to go! 5Subaru Wiring Harness Works not only for Imprezas, but most Subaru models '94 and up. I used it to install a new stereo head unit into my 1998 Subaru Legacy Outback and it worked just fine. Pre-cut wire ends were convenient and wires were sufficiently long. Much cheaper than buying at stereo retail stores where they charge you an arm and a leg for harnesses, trim/border plates, and other installation parts. 5Worked as advertised. Used this wiring harness adapter to install a Pioneer FH-X731BT double din CD receiver into my girlfriends Subaru Baja. All wires were labeled and connecting it to the stereo wiring harness was effortless using this product. 5Glad I got this! What a time saver!! This plug fit directly into my 2001 Legacy Outback and allowed me to install an aftermarket stereo in no time at all. Being able to do all of the wiring outside of the vehicle rather than contorting myself and my soldering iron into crazy positions was awesome! 5Doesn't include dimmer switch pin Pressed for time, so I ordered both the Scosche and Metra cables to make my own breakout harness to keep Navi HU on a '13 WRX while throwing in a sub. As warned on NASIOC forums, neither one included pin 7 "dimmer switch", while I was hopping that at least one would. If you're using an aftermarket HU, this isn't a problem. If you wanna keep it stock though, you're gonna have to hack apart one of them and throw in a new wire/pin. 32000 Outback. Highly recommended. 2000 Subaru Outback. Installed a Jensen VX7020 and this little baby turned the project into a real pleasure. I did not use a couple of the stereos features such as the backup camera so I had a couple of extra wires and this reduced the complexity of the job. 5
