Customer Reviews

Great for the price We've been buying and using handhed showers in our homes for 40 years. So we've sampled a bunch of them at every price point. This one is great at the price. I knew I wanted a thumb-control for spray changes (rotating a showerheaed with soapy hands is so hard it's comical). This thumb-control works well. The spray is strong compared to previous Waterpik. The long hose is a terrific plus for kids, dogs, and seated shower users. The pause function is very useful. Unit looks OK except for ugly gray plastic hose, but I think that goes with the price, as does the plastic construction. You can pay $100-$500 more for a fancier Moen or Kohler if you choose to, but it will not function better or be easier to use than this model. We went with the thrifty choice, since we know very well that no matter what you buy, in about 5 years something will go wrong with it and you will need a new onw. 5Good design, but plastic construction can lead to breakage/leaks. Works well. Construction is plastic, which can lead to durability issues. I *gently* used large slip-joint pliers to carefully tighten the connections at both ends of the hose, and had to use the supplied Teflon tape and more force than I was comfortable with to get the plastic screw-on connection at the wall pipe not to leak.As delivered, the spray was too weak for me, but I noticed a blue plastic flow restrictor just inside the hand unit's hose attachment. I was able to remove it with needle-nosed pliers, reattach the hose, and that solved my flow rate issues. This is my third one of these -- the first two each had the "thumb paddle" for switching between spray modes break off within a year, leaving a dangerous jagged and sharp plastic stub. Five minutes' work with a file rounds off the edges, making the hand unit safe again, but it's definitely harder to turn without the paddle. 4Works good if you don't need the "pause" button This was easy to install, but the "pause" button does not work. The water continues to flow even when you try to push the button in -- and the button is difficult to push as well. Since this is often used for people with mobility issues, I think that button should be easier and it should work.I would have sent it back but I really needed it for my family member and couldn't uninstall it and go through the return process. So I'm keeping it because it does flow and the hose is a nice long 7 feet, but I am disappointed that it does not function as advertised. 3Did not live up to expectations Well, have tried my best to like this product. Installed it over 6 months ago to help a family member bath easier. It stinks! The hose has remained stiff and kinked, making it hard to manage in the confines of a bathtub. When used as an overhead shower, the stiff hose causes the shower head to constantly twist to the left or right. No amount of adjusting has helped. There is a paucity of nozzle openings in the spray head, making it difficult to rinse hair shampoo. The plastic housing/handle is cheap and thin. Finally removed it just this week and will toss it as no one in my family wants it either. What a shame this is going to the landfill. 1Moen should be ashamed I've bought many Moen products over the years and have been happy with them. This was the polar opposite. First, the materials are cheap. Second, the construction is cheap. Why anyone would make a plumbing item with plastic fittings is beyond me. In an effort to securely fasten any of the three knurls, you will want to use pliers, but even with minimum pressure, the fittings were scratched at least and ultimately damaged when we removed this because of how awful it was. There was no water pressure even after we removed our water saver filter just to test it.In full disclosure, I had a bad feeling the moment I took it out of the box because it was so flimsy. I should have returned it right then and there. Now I have an expensive item for the landfill. 1expected more from Moen. I'm an Occupational Therapist and have a favorite shower head which has either been discontinued or just not on Amazon (which seems unlikely), so i took a chance with this one. I like other Moen products so even though this is moderately priced at $44, and other reviewers warned of the "plastic" feel, i didn't expect it to feel THIS shoddy. After all, there are some nice plastics out there, a la "good grips". Alas, what i'd thought would be a nice friction surface just feels like smooth plastic of a different color than the rest of the handle. The strap is perplexingly non-functional and annoying in it's stiffness and placement. It's not solid enough as a handle alone and isn't much of a "retainer". It also partially occluded the On/off switch which also was stiff to operate and not ergonomically ideal for a weaker person with wet hands. If you are a person with a disability or is deconditioned, I'd recommend getting a locally purchased shower head, so you know what you're buying and whether it'll work for you. I'm returning this because it's not satisfactory for my friend with arthritic hands. 2Cheap Plastic Breaks Easily with Minimal Use Used for 2 1/2 months and the connection busted. Cannot replace the part as it is not a separate piece. Only one person using it 2-3 times per week. Connector is cheap plastic. Hose is stiff and difficult to maneuver while taking shower. 2The pause button works easily and well Pros:The pause button works easily and well. Much better than with shower heads with a "dial in" pause. Or hard to push pause.Cons:The handle is properly thick at the top (where no one would hold it), and thin at the bottom (where most people hold it). So it's a terrible feel in-hand. Just very awkward to hold. (And I'm a guy with a strong grip). The hose is stiff. So combined with the thin handle, the stiff hose makes it worse by sort of "jerking" the handle around in your hand. The hose is ugly and looks medical. Do you like being reminded of a hospital every morning? 3Excellent hand held shower head for the price (for the most part) Bought this for our tiny stand-up shower to use while we had house guests using the main full-size bathtub/shower.It's a tight fit in that little shower, and I needed a longer hose to reach everything while showering.So:- five stars for the hose length. It's actually hard to find one over five feet.- five stars for the adjustable spray- When I just wanted it to sit in the bracket, the combined weight and tension of the semi-rigid hose makes it almost impossible for the bracket to stay where you want it, so that was annoying. But, for the price, it's quite good, especially considering I won't use it that often. As for the handle, I just left it on there, but don't care about it at all. 4The rubber grip handle is the best thing about it Simple to install. The rubber grip handle is the best thing about it. Bought for an elderly person and it was easy to grip and the long hose allows for them to sit in the shower and turn off and on without reaching for faucet knobs. 5
