Customer Reviews

Heavy mount that is overkill This thing is heavy. I wouldn't recommend purchasing it unless you need it for the 300x300 or 400x400 vesa. and be aware you have to attach metal wings to the bracket to achieve that size. While my TV looks great and I don't notice the bulk behind it, it was a pain to put up. You either use two holes in the center on a stud, which the holes are just left or just right, or you are supposed to use 4 for a brick mount, which makes me thing this thing was made for commercial use.Typically if I can't find the stud I use anchors but the brick instructions threw me off so I decided to use extra caution and find my stud. It was difficult to mount the mount to the wall without help because the mount is HEAVY. Once I did though, and then I attached my bracket to my TV (which one of the screw holes wasn't drilled out). I was able to lift my tv up onto the mount. Also note the mount and bracket are only secured by two very dinky screws. I thought this heavy duty mount would have a steel bar across, but no, you just screw in small screws on both sides. It works and my tv looks great but definitely overkill. I would have liked a lighter mount but the price was good. 3Well-built, does the job, good price This bracket weighed almost as much as my 39 inch flat screen TV! It's solidly build, with smooth articulations and clean solder joints. I mounted it on a wall behind which I had blocked between the studs during a renovation. It comes with lots of screws, includings 4 cement wall screws and wall anchors the size of my index finger. I didn't need them, and so off to the hardware store for 1 1/2 inch, 5/16th wood screws. The instructions had an incorrect pic of the actual wall plate; screw holes weren't correct, but I wasn't going with only 3 screws down the middle anyway...I put a screw in all four corners, then added 2 more since there were more holes to use. Didn't want that puppy ripping away from the wall! THe mount allows for a good degree of vertical tilt (it says 15 degrees, but it looks like more to me), as well as reaching out into the room AND swiveling left and right. It does fit flush to the wall once I added elbow coaxial adapters to get the cables to sit nice. The mount to the TV itself was simply four of the screws that came with it. I didn't need any of the spacers that were included, but some may. NB: when calculating the location on the wall, notice the the 2+ inch offset of the center of the wall bracket to the center of the tv bracket when it is folded into the "closed" position against the wall. And the side of the offset will depend on which side you swing the first arm. (Once you have it in front of you this will make more sense!) Probably not noticeable on a large wall, but I had only inches on either side, and it would've meant some hucked tools and no dinner for the family if I didn't catch it ahead of time. My only concern with this model is that the weight of this 39"TV (the bracket holds larger ones) is resting on two small screws that allow the plate attached to the TV to hang on the plate on the end of the wall arm. Yes, there's something to be said for shear strength, but it still makes me wary (of course, I AM the person who put 7 bolts instead of the recommended 3 in the wall!) Note also that you CANNOT mount this into metal studs. Bridging two wood studs with some one-by stock may be an option for some. But the notes depict installation into only one wooden stud (or cement wall, NOT cement block). All in all, we're happy with the install and performance. We never changed the angle once adjusted, so I can't speak to how tight the pivots stay over time. 5Heavy Duty, Well Made, Great Value, Fits most TV's and Monitors I had read a few negative reviews about this mount but took the chance to try it. I did not find the problems noted on the negative reviews. For instance my 200x200 mounting holes lined up perfectly. The mount is ROCK solid and so heavy duty its more like a tank on the wall. It allow numerous positions and appears to be over built.1. Mounting on the wall is fairly straight forward, however it will only mount to one stud due to how narrow the base is. You can add a few drywall mounts just for added support which we did.Note the mounting hardware is the standard cheap Chinese stuff and if over torqued the heads will snap off. We used a socket wrench to tighten down the mount base and snapped on bolt. It did notseem that tight. So take care tightening them.2. The bracket that fits to the TV or monitor is one solid piece, the other racks we looked at were in pieces which suggest they'd not be as strong or solid. We had to cut a small corner out of the bracket (which did not affect the bracket or any holes. The reason for the cutting was our 27" Samsung 1080 Monitor TV had one HDMI port that was blocked by the bracket. After the small corner was removed everything fit fine.3. Due to the long 25: reach of the arm we were able to mount the bracket near the edge of a door so the TV could be swung into the other room (or at least in view in the doorway). The bracket arm has three joints, one at the mount, one in the middle and one at the TV mount, this allows for many positions and angles. Thus you can offset the TV by 25" in either direction.4. The kit comes with all the hardware needed, even the bolts used to attach the TV or monitor. The mount IS HEAVY, this is not one of those cheap metal mounts. We bought several for our large 60" screens and the US brand peerless was heavy grade, this mount is the same.5. The instruction booklet (lets call it page) as its a folded 8.5 by 11 page. The detail photos are too small to see. However its pretty straight forward how this mount installs. We just needed to know which screws went to what. We'd buy one of these again and recommend it to friends. Shipping was NOT that fast as the shipper did a sloppy job on the shipping label which caused FedEx to delay the package for 2 extra days. It was shipped from the same state which normally takes 2 days max, it took 4 days. The box was also NOT packed well and caused part of the bracket to penetrate the packing and wear down part of the paint and metal of the bracket. This did not affect the way the item worked and the damage could not be seen as its behind the TV. The main mount box SHOULD be shipped inside another box. If I were to take away stars it would be for slow shipping, poor packing and small instructions. Finally I researched several brackets and still would buy this again. If you need a mount that offers 25" of extension, is very heavy duty then this bracket should be considered. 5Easy to install (at least in a 100 yo house) and unit extends almost 24". I bought a new flat screen TV. The old TV sat on a shelf of a Skandia open book case. The new TV was too wide to fit so I needed a wall mount that would extend through the width of the book case. This is the one that works. The mount is heavy steel. The hinge pins are thick. This unit easily holds the 16 pound TV at full extension. The back plate that attaches to the TV fit perfectly. I am very pleased and recommend this wall mount. 5Make sure you order M8x20mm screws with this if needed for mounting This is a very well built mount. Sturdy and easy to mount. Directions are lacking a little but if you are fairly mechanical it is pretty easy to mount. This does not come with the M8x20mm Screws for Samsung TV's! make sure you order them which is another $10 and why I knocked off 2 stars as this makes a good deal not as good. Does not state anywhere in the description that they do not come with a universal mount. This is a common size and I feel should have been included or clearly stated. 3Harder to install than it should be. The product is OK. It seemed more difficult to install than other mounts I've had. The extension that allow larger TVs were difficult to get on just right. Pay very careful attention to the pictures because there are many ways it can be put together, but only one is right. The directions leave much to be desired. It arrived looking like the box had been mauled by an angry bear, thanks Fedex. Some of the metal parts were even bent like an elephant stepped on it and the paint was damaged. I straightened it with pliers and pushed on, although it complicated getting the bracket on the TV to mate with the arm. It seemed like less trouble than going thru the return process. I would also note the the plate that attaches to the back of the TV blocks some of the connectors on the back of the TV. 3Well Made Bracket with Long Extension Capability This is a very well made TV mounting bracket. I use it on a 27" LCD TV, so I am not pushing the limits of its reported maximum weight/size limitations, but it is built with heavy duty components and should be able to carry all sizes of TVs the manufacturer claims. I am very happy with the longer total extension length of this unit. This was important to me in my application at home and I looked at dozens of competitor units to find the one with the longest extension. This one had the longest extension and it worked perfectly for me. The only caution I will mention is that if you want to attach this bracket to a single stud on a wall it will be somewhat difficult (not impossible) due to the size and hole placement on the bracket's "shoe" that attaches the unit to the wall. You will need to carefully place the "shoe" directly over the stud (which of course is hidden by drywall making that careful placement difficult) so that you can get four screws/lag bolts into the stud to properly anchor the bracket. 5Decent mount for my 27" BENQ gaming monitor This mount is decent. Heavy for its size. It satisfied my need and I'm more than happy with it. I was looking for a mount that extends and this one extends more than most in it's size. I also was looking for something that has more than 2 mounting holes. I made a wall for my tv to hide all wires behind it. I installed this mount right underneath the tv. I knew that the mount bracket would not reach the second stud. You can screw a peace of wood board or plywood directly to the wall than you can screw the mount to it. As seen on pictures. And everything is hidden behind the monitor. If you are not handy you should have someone install it for you or get a mount that will work for you. You need to plan how will you install it before hand. It is true that the monitor portion of bracket does not center with the wall end of the bracket so you would need to measure that out. The wall center is approximately 2 inches to the right of the monitor center. You will also have to level the mount using the bracket that instals to the monitor because that end might be slightly off comparing the the wall end bracket. And the bolts screw directly in to the frame where monitor is hanging. I would perfer if it came with nuts. Again this monitor worked for me but it might not for you. All depends what are you needs and how handy are you. 4Solid Mount, but be sure to grow a brain prior to installation. The good; This is a fantastic mount. I looked through almost every articulating TV mount that Amazon sells before grabbing this one. It's a bit more expensive than the competitors, but well worth it. All the plates and bars are very solid welded steel and seem plenty stout for the job. I hung a 32" TV on this and it can handle the load no problem. The mount comes assembled, so it just needs to be attached to the wall and attached to the TV. I had no issue installing, though I do also have a brain and nobody ever made that a criteria of purchasing a TV mount (as evidenced by the other reviews here). The bad;The hardware (screws, bolts, etc) included with this are garbage. Pot-metal chinese junk. Go to the hardware store and get $5 worth of real steel hardware and you'll be a much happier person. Pick up 8 1" long 3/8" lag screws and washers. You'll need these (read on)Given the price of this mount, I found this acceptable.Install advice; This mount will only hold as much as whatever it is mounted TO.READ: THIS CAN NOT BE MOUNTED TO DRY WALL.Regular plaster walls will NOT SUPPORT THIS. Don't be stupid. This needs to be mounted to studs. Don't be a yokel and use drywall anchors, then be confused when this falls off the wall, breaks your TV and crushes the dog.Because of the shape of the mount and the bolt holes, finding close studs can be a pain. Go to your hardware store and have them cut you a an 18" x 12" piece of 1" thick plywood. Paint it to match your wall. Screw this plywood to two studs (16" centers, so it should span two) using 3" decking screws. Then screw the mount to this piece of ply wherever you like using the 8 lag screws you got from the hardware store.Yes, it's more work, but doing it the right way the first time pays off. 5Five stars for the mount. Zero stars for the instructions This is a solid, heavy TV mount that matches the specifications listed on this page. It is what it is advertised to be. I mounted my 32" TV with it successfully, alone, and I'm just a vaguely "handy" person who happens to own a stud finder not some DIY whizz. Some surprises it would help you to know in advance if you're installing this yourself: the "tools you'll need" section of the instructions says you'll need a 5/32" drill bit to make pilot holes for the lag bolts, which fasten the mount to the stud in your wall. Okay, fine, to be expected. Maybe you already have a drill bit that size. But what the instructions don't mention is that a standard 5/32" bit is a full two inches shorter than the lag bolts. These bolts are truly monstrously long. So make sure you get an EXTRA LONG bit. It would be nice if the instructions specified that off the bat. Also? Don't believe the "tools you'll need" section when it claims you can drive the lag bolts into the wall with a wrench. You won't ever be able to get the bolts flush with the wall with a regular adjustable wrench. You will instead need a socket wrench with a 1/2" hex head. This tool is curiously NOT listed on the "tools you'll need" section. A nut driver of the same size, either handheld or a drill bit, will not be up to the task: neither will have enough torque to drive these monster bolts. Trust me. You'll need a heavy duty 1/2" hex head socket wrench. And you'll need some elbow grease. Those bolts are NOT easy to drive. Which is what you want, because they'll be holding up your TV hopefully for years to come. But be prepared. Before I got the socket wrench, I tried to drive the lag bolts with a 1/2" hex head nut driver and the bolts were so stubborn the plastic handle of the nut driver stripped completely just crumbled around the shank of the driver inside of about three turns. Those monster bolts are serious business. The installation instructions are pretty terrible. The diagrams and after the incomplete/misleading "Tools" section it's all diagrams, there are no written step-by-step instructions are unclear. I read the instructions several times and laid out all the parts, and a couple steps had drawings so tiny and confusing it was genuinely hard to tell which fastener/which hole/which part you were being told to use. And, as other reviewers have noted, if you follow the instructions and you're installing into a wall made of drywall and studs (not masonry), you will be installing this mount by driving TWO out of the four included lag bolts into the center of a stud, through a pair of holes in the mount that are slightly off center. It's hard to visualize, and even if it's safe (I presume it's safe) it FEELS wrong to install the mount off-center. But that's what it's designed to be. There are four holes, two on each side of the center of the mount, and they're 1.5" apart exactly the width of a standard stud. So there's no way to drive four bolts into your stud. You have to just pick one side and use two bolts. If the instructions were clearer that this is what's intended to happen I would have felt better about it. As it was, I kept on looking back through the steps to see if I'd missed something. Surely it couldn't be telling me to install the mount off-center. But indeed it was. The extra two bolts are only for people who are installing into masonry walls. Two bolts, apparently, are all it takes in a stud.So unsure was I about the two bolts/off center thing that after I completed the installation I screwed in my TV, fully extended the arm of the mount for maximum stress, and placed a table underneath the TV to catch it if the bolts failed. I left it that way for three days. Everything stayed secure so I assume two off-center bolts are all this mount needs. But the installation was still nerve-wracking thanks to the ambiguous and needlessly confusing instructions. 4
