Customer Reviews

I. Love. This. Keyboard. This keyboard is honestly pretty gd amazing. I don't use the audio passthrough, but the USB passthrough port allows me to charge my mouse without having to use a USB extension cable. The RGB effects are spot-on (for my tate), allowing for multiple presets, brightness and speed changing for these effects. Keys are easily removable, reattachable, and cleanable. The red switches are very responsive, and the frame of the keyboard is very sturdy. My one issue is with the magnetic wrist-rest. After a while, the gold RGB connectors of it start to become stuck, where I have to use tweezers to pull it out. The pins are not very durable. This could be me, but i'm just saying what I see. 4Great feel and lighting features I'm very satisfied with the keyboard overall. It has a good solid feel, and I'm glad I finally upgraded to a mechanical after too long settling for OEM plastic junk! I also wanted customizable lighting, and this one delivers that in spades. All that being said, they could make a couple of improvements. I didn't take any points off because they relate to how I specifically use the keyboard; for many these may be non-issues, and they may be fixable with future updates. First, the "lock" keys (caps, num & scroll) don't have separate indicators to tell you that they're "on." The keys themselves light up white, which is usually OK unless you're going for a certain "look" with your lighting. It's NOT OK if you have the whole keyboard lit up white, however. Second, while the colors on the keyboard can be easily changed using the dedicated lighting control keys or user profile keys, the light on the palm rest is ONLY controlled by the software. Also, when a user profile is active (rather than a default setting such as "Static," "Breathing," etc.), the light bars on the ends of the board are not lit. So while it might seem like adding the palm rest to the user profile would solve the issue, it wouldn't be optimal unless they also added the light bars.I'm actually after a pretty simple look, but I wanted the flexibility to change colors; I don't care for the "rainbow" scheme, preferring to have my keys all one color which I can change on a whim. But that Num Lock key does detract from the overall look, particularly since I prefer to keep it active. So for example, I can have a badass looking red board ... that has a white blemish on it. Much more problematically, if I have the keys lit with white light, there's no way to tell whether or not the lock keys are active! And while I can change the key color very easily between red, green, blue and whatever, I've got to open the software to change the color on the palm rest. I still highly recommend the board, just be aware that it has a couple limitations which may not even apply to how you use it. 5GREAT!!! Okay, so I hope this isn't premature review, cuz I just receive this keyboard, but I LOVE it. Nice size, doesn't seem like the keys are cramped and enough space that looks like cleaning up with an air duster would be very easy. My last Keyboard (Corsair k70) was very good too but had random moments where it would turn off, stop working and then I ended up knocking a cleaning solution onto it and it (of course) stopped working. I heard the Viper was a better all-round gaming keyboard and decided to give it a try. As long as it doesn't end up having the random turn off moments like Corsair, it will become my new favorite brand. The keys are so smooth and the Light play is so fun! The only thing that makes me cringe, is the detachable armrest has a cool magnetic function, but in the center is a tiny metal 5 prong plugin (so the armrest can light up too) that just seems so fragile and I feel will break one day. Also its a little touchy, so when I move the keyboard to my lap the connection will easily be lost and you have to re-center the prongs back up to the insert. Also, like Corsair, I am not sure this wonderfully expensive keyboard is waterproof and I have no desire to test that out. Overall though, I am in love with this keyboard and I hope it stays that way. 4V770 Review - 9 Months Later So I purchased this keyboard roughly 9 months ago, back in June of 2018, and I loved it. I still really do; it is by far the best mid-market option for a gaming keyboard. Really if your looking at getting a Cosair or Razer keyboard, don't. This has everything that you need with a really good build quality, which is 75% air-grade brushed aluminum and 25% matte black plastic, and tons of great features. There is no flex in the chassis which is nice especially when playing aggressively, the switches are red kailh switches, which are pretty much the same as mx cherry red switches except a little bit quieter. The macro keys are fun for binding an auto clicker to or certain chat lines, as I don't have much of a professional use for them. The task bar at the top is amazing with the giant volume wheel that can click in along with the 3 smaller switch dials for stop, play, pause, skip, fast forward, back, rewind. The RGB is very nice and vibrant because of the fact that it is located on the top side of the switch instead of under it and is very easy to customize and change with their software, or your could use the like 30+ pre-programmed ones instead. Main keys are pretty close together which is good for typing and gaming (in my opinion) but does collect dust over time which will need to be cleaned with a air canister or PC cleaner. Something that you have to keep in mind is that a few of the more larger main keys are additionally held in place with a metal band/clasp which makes it super tactile and responsive, but might be an issue if your looking to change the key caps. Palm rest is good for typing and is a nice smooth texture, however if you have tiny hands like me you'll find yourself reaching for some of the farther keys (number keys and top row of letters) so I'd recommend taking it off if you experience that. The palm rest RGB can be kinda weird if you don't connect the rest correctly via the magnets, but once you do connect it properly it doesn't budge or disconnect at all while playing. The USB and headphone jack on the sides are very nice for using you headset with or charging you phone but I don't use them that often. All in all, one of the best keyboards on the market and I would highly recommend purchasing it. 5Size and pinky rests Great mouse for people with larger hands. I previously used the G502, but it was just too small for my hand and grip style and doesn t have pinky rest attachments. This mouse fits my hand and grip perfectly. It has great customizable settings once you download their software. I get no fatigue from using this mouse for 6-9 hrs per day editing videos and gaming. The pinky rest was a must for me, and it comes with 2 different types of pinky rests. 5LOVE this keyboard LOVE this keyboard. Decided to get a new one because my other gaming one (Logitec) was hurting. Plus I got tired of the way the keys click. This keyboard on the other hand is beautiful. The keys are like silk, and are quiet. They feel very smooth. The palm rest attaches VIA magnet, didn't think it would hold as my fingers go crazy (I type 140-160wpm) and it did hold. It's also very comfortable and soft like the keys. The lighting events on this are amazing. Download the software and select a predefined theme or setup your custom one. The lighting patterns are great, and the lights are as bright or dim as you wish. And are very pleasant to the eye. The palm rest always has a very cool light that stretches across it with a viper logo at the end. The top of the keyboard has every function and control you can imagine. There are also audio control wheels. Needless to say this keyboard is awesome, so much I had to spent 20 minutes writing this review lol. Grab it. Even if you aren't a hardcore gamer (which I'm not), you will love this keyboard. 5Great value headset Summary:Great headset at the price. For the price, you really can't go wrong:-7.1 virtual surround-Fold to mute-Comfortable-Slick design-Great customer service (a legit 2 year warranty)Details:The last 3 points are obviously opinion, but here's my experience:+I've completed 6+ hour raids using this headset, and I didn't notice any discomfort with this headset. The top is well padded with a conforming foam-like material that is a good balance -- it is neither so soft that it the padding is useless, nor too rigid that it applies counter pressure. It also comes with leather ear pads and an extra set of fabric ear pads (see comparison to G230 below)+i like that the mic folds flush. And when it folds, the mic is muted. No need to toggle a switch to mute is a huge plus IMO. And you know when you're muted or not.*At some point, my Fold-to-mute stopped working. I reached out to Patriot, and they issued an RMA. Luckily, I was going to be in the area, so I did an in-person exchange - no questions asked, and I got a brand new replacement. Very painless. My gf has Logitech G230s (same price):The plastic feels cheap. Only 2.1 stereo. There's no mute toggle. And in the same raids, she was complaining about the headset hurting -- in the G230, the top padding is a hard-gel-like consistency that doesn't really dampen the weight at all. Also, it only has fabric padding (top and ear pads), which she found pulls her hair too often. 5replacing my old one So I bought this to replace my old one which is the same exact model which wasnt even a year old, only reason I stick to this because there isnt many mouses with pinky rest. This one is cheap and easy on the wallet verses other brands that cost more for cheaper quality. Like most of my mouses the Left click button dies first since I do a lot of 3d/2d design. The plastic isnt cheap feeling like my M.A.D. Catz 7 mouse which was over priced and flimzy feeling, the button on those are way too cheap and dont last long as this one. 4Ceramic Mouse Feet Are Underrated I order the mouse being rather apprehensive since I had no idea that Patriot started making gaming peripherals. Not seeing a lot of reviews on amazon I was concerned but at 35bucks the price is right. I went to youtube to see what people said about it and immediately saw how smoothly it slid on TimmyJoes Mousepad. Now I have one of my own and I have to say it's a rather good mouse the only issues I have with it is lack of customization support in the software. The mouse performs very well it's comfortable and it looks good. The mouse feet are the best I have ever used.I would rate the product better but since they stack the reviews on top of other unrelated products on amazon they lose two stars for unethical review conduct. 3Patriot Memory Viper V770 Pro Mechanical Gaming Keyboard FTW! I've had my share of mechanical keyboards, but this keyboard by far is very lovely. Its very aesthetically pleasing to the eye. The magnetic wrist rest is a very unique touch. (You can even customize effects and colors on it!) The RGB is very "poppy", like very bright and strong if that even makes sense. The sides of the keyboard even has RGB! The braided cable splits into 4 things. (The main keyboard usb, then the side port usb, then an audio and mic cable. On the right side of the keyboard, it has headphone jack but also comes with a lil spliter adapter for mic and audio. The keyboard itself is very good build quality. Feels very sturdy and well made. The multimedia keys and very nice and the scroll wheel for volume is very satisfying. There's prebuilt lighting effects built into the keyboard, but it doesn't tell you in the manual but there's a software you can download on their page. From there you can do profiles and customize the lights to the T. User friendly and you don't need to register an account or anything. Very subtle but I really like the font on this keyboard. I'm use to cherry mx switches but these are actually really nice. Overall I'm really satisfied with this keyboard. I asked a question earlier about a feature they didn't mention anywhere on the box or manual but on the top of the keyboard, there's this slide out tray thing. I assumed it was for holding your smartphone but I could be wrong. Pretty neat. Oh and random but the packaging was VERY nice, ha.TLDR:PROS:-Thick braided cable-dedicated multimedia keys with with subtle white backlighting-Software for RGB (download on their website)-Side USB-Side audio jack with included spliter-VERY strong "pop" RGB colors-Unique wrist rest-Good build quality-Dedicated macro keys-Unique keycap font (can be a hit or miss, personal preference)CONS--0 directions on how to set up RGB or any indication that they even have software (Found out software through comments)-Not cherry mx switches (Not really a con but some peeps are serious for their cherry switches)-Personally I like very loud tactile sound but this is very subtle. Not very loud if you're into that.-Logo branding is strong with this one lols 5
