Customer Reviews

Excellent for the sizeI have a weird VESA pattern so had to buy this after I found another "universal" mount wouldn't work.Very sturdy, very cleverly designed. Mostly very well made. Good arm, and very nice that it can be mounted anywhere to the wall brace, which helps center the TV anywhere, regardless of where the wall plate goes due to joists.Only points off are for:- How much the crossbars cover on the TV. I cannot see all of the dataplate now.- Not enough spacers. None, or very long ones. Short spacers would be helpful for some TVs, and I would have used them on my on general principles- The tilt lever is a knob. Not very trustworthy. A lever would be better.- Wish it had some friction locks. I can move the TV angle by pushing the power button. Too easy to move, really. I want it to stay where I put it.- The rotation screw is a TINY TINY screw, and a very low quality one too. I nearly stripped it tightening. Should be a knob or lever, or at least a more reliable feeling hex key4Great mount for large tv. A few tips...This mount is a beast. I have my 65" Sony XBR65x850d hanging on it. It was my first time doing this. Important tips: A critical instruction for this mount is to TEST where you plan to drill your holes. Use a thin nail and make absolutely sure you've found the studs. I was using my stud finder incorrectly (at first) and am very glad I tested first because I was wrong. My stud finder locates stud edges which worked great. Mark both boundaries (edges) of the stud and drill dead center into the stud. 2nd tip: If you're hanging a large tv...definitely get help and use a 2nd person to help you mount the TV. I was soooo tempted to do this part before my wife got home but am glad I waited. It's not worth wrecking a tv over just to skip a step and try to be a hero. You will need: *stud finder *level *thin long nail to test holes *a 7/32 wood drill bit to drill pilot holes into the studs *pencil *tape measure *1/2" or 13mm ratchet to tighten down the lag bolts. Pretty easy. Took me less than an hour.5Worked for the application neededThis is a very good and sturdy mount (first fully articulating mount I've purchased) for the money. It holds the weight and size TV it states. PLEASE READ BEFORE BUYING. Like stated in headline, this unit worked for my application and you would want to check before you purchase for yours. The bracket mounted to the wall is not as long as ones that came in other packages. BEFORE YOU BUY, VERIFY THE FOLLOWING: If you have determined the location you plan to mount this bracket, make sure the studs you plan to mount to are the standard 16" apart as anything further apart, the mounting bracket may not be long enough. If good, this is the perfect mount for the price.5Great for my LG 70" TV This is a well constructed, solid and substantial (read: reasonably heavy) TV mount. Made from (presumably) good thick gauge of steel, this was easy to install for my A/V installer (he mentioned this is quality stuff to work with compared to cheaper brands). Used to mount a 70" LG TV on my wall, there is one caveat LG TV owners (of this size TV) need to be aware of. The panel which contains the ethernet connection will likely be partially covered by the backplate that is attached to the TV. This makes it hard to plug in an ethernet cable with a protective sheath on the jack and cable, unless you remove the protective sheath. It should work fine on newly crimped cables though as you'll need to bend it 90 degrees down to squeeze through the small clearance in space between the TV and the backplate of the mount. 5Get this for the big tv today. Awesome mount for the money. Easy to install, using on a 75 Samsung, looks great on the wall with no wires showing. Good left/right, up/down turning on the mount 5Does NOT Fit Samsung 43" RU7100 with 200x200 VESAThis mount seems totally fine, but it simply does not work with my 43" Samsung RU7100. I researched this at Sanus' website before purchase to ensure it would fit. The problem is that the RU7100 has a slight arc in the rear of the tv over the mounting holes. The holes are inset. The included hardware includes 4 spacers, but these do not fit the insets (they are too wide). Additionally, the screw heads are too wide for the inset holes. So, you have to use bolts that are too long to even attempt to secure. This results in both the top and bottom mounting brackets to be completely loose (without the ability to use spacers. Very disappointing. Have used several Sanus mounts before to mount Vizio, Sony, LG, and Samsung tvs. Never ran into this issue before. I'll return and try my luck with a random Best Buy brand. Ugh.1Minor Installation Inconveniences, but Works Well So far -- Would Recommend.I installed my new 75" Samsung TV on the Sanus MLF13-B1 bracket a few days ago. The bracket fit fine on my wall (thin paneling over drywall) because my wall studs are spaced 16" apart, and the center of the wall (where I wanted the TV centered) was within a few inches of the midpoint between two of the wall studs. So far the mounting bracket seems to function well.I made one mistake during installation that cost me extra time... I installed the brackets onto the back of the TV using the plastic spacers that were included in the Sanus kit before realizing that Samsung provides their own special spacers with the TV. Luckily I realized that before I hung the TV on the wall (which required two people, due to the weight of the TV -- about 90lbs with the bracket installed -- and therefore was a little scary), and I swapped out the spacers.I subtracted one star from my rating due to a couple of issues with the Sanus bracket kit:1) The Sanus kit does not come with the bolts required for my Samsung TV. My TV requires 8mmX1.25X45mm bolts. The longest bolts in the Sanus kit were 8mmX1.25mmX35mm. This resulted in an extra trip to the hardware store -- actually two stores, because it seems that 8mmX1.25X45mm is not a terribly common bolt size.2) The flexible joints on the Sanus bracket (as received) were unevenly stiff. One joint was fairly loose and easy to move. The others were much tighter. I had to slightly adjust the tension on the through-bolts in the joints to loosen them up.Also, I learned one other thing during the installation... If you need to center the TV bracket (which can be done, because the articulating portion slides on the wall-mounted portion), you should definitely do that before hanging the TV. If you try to center the TV after it is hung, the weight of the TV makes sliding the bracket almost impossible. The bracket also includes a leveling adjustment which can be done after the TV is hung. (This is very useful, but note that it is best to have a helper to hold the TV level while you tighten the screw that holds it that way.)4Sturdy, Great Instructions, Easy Installation and No Wobble Mount for Medium to Large and/or Heavy TVsI'm reviewing the Sanus MLF13-B1 Articulating Universal Wall Mount for 37-80-Inch ScreenPros:* Supports up to a 130lb TV (which I didn't see in the Amazon product details)* Excellent included instructions* Everything to mount was included and well labeled for all kinds of different TV configurations* Heightfinder website to help with mounting height is great (See the first Con though!)* Well made and sturdy construction* Supports a 100lb 50" Plasma TV without any give/wobble* Tilt, Swivel and arm range for easy adjustment, even after mounting* Doesn't block back ports and makes it easy to hook up everything after mounting with distance from wall* Cost, when compared to other mounts, is pretty amazing and affordable for the range on this mount* Using the instructions had everything mounted/adjusted/setup in less than 2 hours, with prior measurements and marks for drilling (for a layman)Cons:* There are at least two websites for Sanus mounts (Sanus Classic and Sanus) and neither seem to reference the other's model lines for the Heightfinder web page tool, or anything else. A cursory glance doesn't even show links, or references to another site without drilling down into Brands from Sanus. They have different sites for different Brands within their company and a simple model search won't reveal all brands on their "main" site. This is a Sanus Classic model and thus you need that Heightfinder. Just doing a Google search brings up www.sanus.com, vs. classic.sanus.com which is what you need for this mount! So don't get confused/angry if you can't find your mount on the Heightfinder, you're most likely on the wrong site. I'm not knocking off a star as this is an optional tool and most likely some mistake of my own, but... that was a bit confusing and I got worried the $99 I paid was because I got some kind of knock-off for a moment. Especially when seeing mounts on the primary Sanus site were $400+* No printed diagram for bracket included, though it was mentioned in the instructions - but I believe you could print one out on their site if you need it. I don't even really consider this a thing, but felt I should mention it for those doing first time install. It would probably help when initially configuring where to drill* Having to mark 6 different sets of measurements because people can't agree on how high the TV needs to be for adequate viewing? The initial measurements were more painful than the entire installation of this mount, and probably took longer too. This was due to users, rather than any failure on Sanus though. Sanus actually made it exceptionally easy to adjust and measure. They have a website where you pick the make/model of the mount and it will tell you measurements based on how high you want the TV on the wall. As my Cons mention though, make sure you're getting to the correct site for your model or you won't find it listed in the Heightfinder tool.It took one person to measure, drill, mount the bracket and arm on the wall, as well as put the brackets on the TV. It took two to actually lift and line up the TV bracket with the arm. This was mostly due to the size and weight of the TV, combined with the height of the mount on the wall. We did have a third spot check to make it easier to line up rather than blind fishing for the lip, though that wasn't really necessary.Once it was mounted and bolted in place it was ridiculously easy to adjust and move around for best viewing angle. They even included the Allen/hex wrenches needed to loosen the bolts for adjustment. I also recommend picking up the Precision Sensors Stud Finder Professional Deep Scanning LED Profinder 5000 if you don't have a good stud finder. This is an active stud finder that made locating the center of the studs incredibly easy for a solid mount. I bought it specifically for this project and will be using it a lot going forward.5It's SHORTWow, this thing is much shorter than the wall mount I removed for my 15" smaller 65" TV.I had to fabricate wood support because this is made for 16" joists and that's it. Nothing longer. The TV basically hangs on a little "point" at the top of the mount. It's very "iffy" but seems strong enough. And I do like how easily this mount swivels around. But just one small screw removed and thieves are running away with your TV. It's much too easy to remove from the mount.4Sturdy, good instructions This is a good quality articulating arm for a TV with excellent installation instructions. My only problem is that the little screw that is used to keep the TV level is made from poor quality steel (the head stripped) and can't be tightened enough to keep he TV from tilting left/right (off level) when the TV is moved. My gut feeling is this is both a design flaw and a parts defect. I feel this wall mount would serve better when you need to tilt and angle the TV into a fixed position, rather than moving it several times each day. I'll try replacing the screw with something stronger. Maybe a lock washer will help also, we'll see. 4Wrong information from Sanus Website.Prior to purchase, I logged in my TV s model # into Sanus s website to ensure I was purchasing the right mount. None of the screws would fit into the back of my tv to secure the mount making it useless and a complete waste of time as now I m stuck trying to return it. Please update your website to ensure compatibility with the mounts purchased.1Quality product, easy install and a great price! So this is only the second TV mount I have installed. Prior to purchasing this I researched several models before deciding on this. I chose the Sanus MLF13 because I needed a full motion , installed over a fireplace and on a corner wall, and needed to slide the TV due to off center studs. The instructions were simple to follow, and installation fairly straightforward. There are plenty of adjustments available in case you need to make them for tilt, swivel or extension.? The most difficult process was lifting the tv onto the mount itself. Took about 25 minutes from the time I opened the box to when I lifted the tv onto the mount. Best advice is to prepare yourself and take measurements before hand to determine where you will mount. Also a good level is a must have both to level your mount and tv but to also level your stud markings. If you want a quality mount that is reasonably priced and simple to install, the Sanus MLF13 is a great choice.599%Works great for me. You can't be a dummy to put it up, but you don't need to be a genius. Just take your time, measure twice, drill once. And do be sure to pre-drill into the studs. My only tiny concern is that the screw to adjust the side-to-side tilt is small and difficult to access (see pics). Other than that, excellent mount.5
