Customer Reviews

Super easy install So here is the deal. If you have dealt with cords and switches for long runs of ethernet to other buildings. scrap that plan.I searched and found this to be the best option SOOOO glad i found this. They are not kidding around or making it super complicated by saying EZ they mean business.YOU must have JAVA to use the discovery tool and follow their directions about setting up point A and point B independently on the ground with a laptop doesnt take more then 20 minutes if you have some cat5/6 cables laying around.I would recommend buying the mounting poles unless you have some direct tv or old radio mounting type hardware.aiming these was not even hard in the slightest and connection is 100% remember the pat your head and 1mm to the right with tinfoil on top. yeah no not with these close is good enough for a super stable frustration free internet bridge.I wish I would have done this years ago instead of replacing lines and buying switches constantly. If you have programs like quickbooks and know about the pitfalls of packet losses and lost connections due to timeouts your problems will evaporate instantly with this truly easy I mean easy to hook up bridge literally no tech experience needed at all for this system. 5This is a superior product. Truly plug and play This is a superior product. Truly plug and play. I tried to use the Ubiquiti products for a while - They didnt work, then the replacement set didnt work. Worst money I ever spent. The EZ bridge worked right out of the box. Plugged them in and instantly had the internet at my outbuilding. Dont waste time and money on any other product, this is the one for you!!! 5Installed and working! I was not familiar with bridges, etc so I have been looking options for a time just trying to figure out which product would be the easiest for me to install.Quick shipping, The packaging was easy and simple, not many parts and nothing to assemble. Directions read a bit hard but don t over complicate them- just follow it through. Really 2 pages and then a lot of good points to know.I am using this product to have internet st s location that is less than 250 feet away. I was able to get good signal strength through the walls and also some pine trees. I purchased a router with it, as the first pages of the manual looked likeIt was required. However farther back in the book was instructions to enable this unit for wireless! Works great and pleasantly surprised!! Ps.. it also came with mounting brackets. 5Not so easy "EZ Bridge Lite" Seems like a well made product that works well once set up. I had a tough time getting the discovery tool software downloaded and working and found tech support to be almost non-existent. Tech support is open at most 4 days per week during regular business hours and most of the time you don't get a live response to your call but voicemail instead. I was able to get some emails back and forth but was never able to talk to anyone for support. Fortunately I figured out the issues on my own. First there are multiple choices on their website for the needed Discovery software and it's confusing to figure out which version you need. Secondly you must download Java to your Windows 10 computer before you can use the Discovery Software. This is where I got hung up as I could download and run one version of the discovery software without Java making me believe Java was installed. Then once I downloaded other versions of the software it would not open. Once I figured out that Java wasn't installed I found instructions on how to download it on my computer. This allowed the discovery software to open and run, solving my issues. Once this was done the EZ Bridge was able to be found on the discovery software and everything was working. Yes, the antennas are pre-configured so I didn't need to go into any settings to make them work. The mistake was on my part for mistakingly thinking I had Java installed on my computer. That step will cause issues for many computer novices and create frustration especially if they have the difficulties I ran into getting support. Otherwise now that the units are set up they seem to work well. I'll come back to update if I run into any difficulties with actual use. For now I have the units set up at the separate locations (only about a 1/10th of a mile). They were able to connect even without having them mounted outside. Hoping that mounting them will make them even better. 3Perfect, definitely recommend this product. Plug and play. Never even went into the settings. Shooting line of sight just under 800 feet. ISP running at 50 meg, remote unit runs at 50 meg as well. No perceivable lag what so ever. Now my parents can get rid of over priced and under rated DSL. Paying for 2meg actual speed ~ 750k (less than 1 meg). Cable company wanted about $5,000 to run the cable to their house, this was a much cheaper solution.(Update 10-27-18)Absolutely rock solid, no reboots, no problems. Still recommend this solution to everyone needing to add internet access to a remote location. 5Much easier to setup than expected. I used this to get Internet over a 500-foot run from a barn to my gate to setup an intercom system. I followed the suggestion to set it up first near a router in my home and then later installed the antennas outside. System fired right up and using the Web interface I could see I was getting about 300Mbits consistently, which was more than enough for my needs. The best part was that all I needed to do was just point the antennas toward each other without the need for any fine tuning or other calibration. I had no need for tech support. Great system! It's only been in service for a couple weeks. If I have any issues over time, I will update the review. 5TRUE PLUG AND PLAY..These work great!!, Our Shop now has internet!! We wanted internet down in my husband's shop, which is a metal bldg about 300 feet from the house. Our Wifi would reach outside the shop but would not penetrate the metal exterior. We tried another bridge set up, but we didn't have a degree in bridge tech...so we had to return it. We read the reviews on this EZ Bridge Lite...and decided to give it a try. My husband set up the 2 units, ran the ethernet cords into each of the 2 buildings, followed the simple instructions on plugging the units in and low and behold...Plug and Play at its finest...we now have internet in the shop. We are very impressed at the speed and ease of set up. No programming, no entering codes..no swearing or cursing...I would give this 10 stars if I could!!** only 1 con with this...you have to take the bottom cover off of each of the 2 units to connect the ethernet cable that goes into each of the 2 buildings and it was a little difficult to get the cover back on once the cable was plugged in...small inconvenience for such easy set up!!We would highly recommend these units to anyone!!! 5Had some trouble initially, but Tycon technical support helped me out. Unlike most customers, my antennas did not work out of the box. I m not knowledgeable at all about networking, but I learned a thing or two during this installation. One big thing to avoid - when you first power up the antennas, do not have the receiving antenna connected to a router. If you need wireless on the receiving end like I did, set up the router at that end as a wireless access point . I think that s what screwed me up - the receiving router gave the antenna on that side a IP address, and messed up the communication between the two antennas. I eventually learned to download tycons discovery tool program, and reset the antennas to factory spec through the internet browser button in that window, and not simply through the restore/reset button seen next to it.I also ran some cat5e cable from the smart TVs at the receiving location into the wireless router that I have set up there as a wireless access point.Everything works beautifully. I have two houses 250 ft apart and the connection is just like a hardwired cat 5e cable between the houses. I love it, and will buy another setup for another project in mind. Tycon s customer service was awesome.Update 1 year later:Everything is still running beautifully. No issues, no maintenance, no resetting, or hassle.Since then, I bought another set of antennas for a more ambitious project. This time the gap I was trying to conquer was about 1,325 ft - just shy of a 1/4 mile to a remote building. I went so far as to put in two 20 ft tall treated 4x6 posts to raise the antennas above some small pine trees. I was concerned about some other trees and branches in the way, but it s working really well. I can stream movies perfectly at this remote location, and that s all I could ask. Love this system! My one modem (and one internet bill) now covers three buildings. Very very happy. 5This item works better than I had anticipated. I bought this wireless bridge to provide internet to my barn that is located about 500 feet from my home. I had some initial difficulty getting it installed/configured. The install instructions in the user guide said to download their Discovery Tool. I downloaded and installed it, but could not get it the tool to discover anything. I was however able to find the antennae IP addresses using the web interface of my router. Once I had the IP of the antennae, I could connect to them and verify that they were working. I then was able to plug into the antenna's power inserter down at the barn and get internet access. Getting the second router down at the barn to work was a little tricky. I had to change the IP of the router in the barn, and disable DHCP. Also, I plugged the cable from the inserter into one of the LAN ports on the barn router instead of the one labeled Internet. During this process, I tried calling tech support on a Saturday, but they only work Mon - Thursday. Despite the initial difficulty in getting it to work, I still gave the product 5 stars because of how well it worked once installed. I have 3 computers at my barn and I was able to stream video on all three of them without any pausing of blocking. I was really impressed. 5It's been a month and so far so good. We have two AirBNB buildings that are across the street and a few houses away from each other. And we didn't want to pay for the internet at both of them. And we can't run a cable across the street so this seemed like a perfect solution for us, and so far it's been working well. I will update this review if we run into issues. It says this can go miles. I'm only using it for about 400 feet or so. So maybe this is overkill for my use case. But we tested a normal router and it just didn't cut it, we only had 1 bar at the second airbnb, so it wouldn't have worked for multiple people streaming video. But this device has been working great. We paid $199.78, and it looks like they recently raised the price up to $207.95 on Amazon. Which may see high, but it's saving us like $70 a month on internet, so it'll pay for itself very quickly.I spent most of a day researching which is best and reading reviews before buying this. I settled on this one because it seems to have the most stability. Reviews on other devices said they worked for a few months then stopped working all of a sudden, that's not an option for us, it would be a disaster if it just stopped working so we paid a little extra for this one and again, i'm very happy so far, no major issues yet.I also decided on this one because it's just plug and play, not setting up, it just works like a long ethernet cable. We pay for 150/150 verizon internet, and this typically gets about 40/70. Which is more than enough for a few video streams at once.My main complaint is the mounting bar on the back could be better, it's easy to tilt up and down, but hard to turn left and right to point in the right direction. 5
