Customer Reviews

A mount sure not to dissapoint. Easily holds the Epson 5040UB which is a huge projector. We used this to mount the projector over the bed in the bedroom so we wanted something that we would not have to worry about failing on us and crushing us with the 25lbs projector. Installation was super easy and supported a lot of different options. I would for sure recommend this mount to anyone mounting a projector with challenging angles of the walls or ceiling. I have no trouble with vibrations. The joins in this are super solid and stay exactly where I positioned them. Its possibly more than one needs, but better to error on the side of excess when it comes to keeping the projector mounted where you want it. 5Over 8 years later... I've used this mount with 2 different projectors over the course of 8 years in several different houses/apartments and it's held up wonderfully. I originally had an Optoma HD20 and now have a BenQ HT2050A. It's very adjustable in every setup I've had and I highly recommend it. It's cheaper now than when I purchased it so if I had to buy another I'd definitely go with this one again. 5Not as Universal as they make it out to be. The maximum bolt size to mount to the projector this supports as designed is 5mm (M5). The Optoma UHD65 (and probably the UHD60) have M6 mounting bolts, so it's impossible to mount the projector to this mount using the included hollow adjustment screws. It comes with (and accepts) 2.6mm, 3mm, 4mm, and 5mm mounting bolts. A 6mm M6 bolt will not fit through the adjustment screws.Using spacers and washers instead of the included adjustment screws made this mount work for me, although it was quite a bit harder to adjust than if I could have used the included (too small) hollow adjustment screws. 3Cannot be happier! This is very highly recommended.Very high quality materials, all parts are very well designed and fit very well.Easy to install, and adjustability is just amazing.I have a short throw projector "BenQ W770ST", I used to project my screen from tea table between sofa and screen. However, I bought a reclining love seats and tea table was getting on the way since my home theatre room is tiny.I tried a cheaper mount first "Mustang Low Profile Projector Mount (MV-PROJSP-FLAT-B)" which was around $40, but it was absolutely terrible.Bolts were rough and none of the parts fit smoothly. I had to use all my strength trying to tighten up bolts.I couldn't even try mounting my projector as I could never get it installed from the first place. Frustrated, I threw it away. Then, I found this beautiful Vintage Point mount. It seemed little expensive at first, but positive reviews gave me enough confidence to have another go.I received it couple of weeks ago but didn't have enough time to install it until today. It took about an hour and half drilling, mounting, adjusting, cleaning.Whole process was hassle free as everything was dead straight forward.Manual was fairly simple and does its job.All parts were precise. There are two options. You can mount it close to the ceiling or you can also use extender to make it little longer.I used extension to avoid from ceiling light. As other reviewers have already mentioned,Adjustability is amazing with this mount. It can be rotated, tilted in either direction..I could get perfect picture on my 92" screen in less than 3 minutes after mounting in on the ceiling.horizontal and vertical placement can be easily adjusted as well, so you won't have to drill with exact precision.Very satisfied. 5Superior design I chose this one because it will mount both wall or ceiling. Also looks and engineering. This one looks far better than the others. The engineering is clearly done by senior high level professionals. Each segment locks in place with built in set screws. Any angle is possible. I've included a photo. It may look odd because I've installed over a poster in my sons studio. Now for those who order it should be aware: there is a mount with attaches to the wall/ceiling. the included lag bolts will be difficult to screw into a stud. They are very long And have a philips head. They are quality bolts, however the Phillips head is prone to strip and they are too long to screw in by hand. You'll need to drill pilot holes and install them with a drill. They worked for me but be prepared! When I relocate the projector I will choose hex head lag bolts at the hardware store. This one is worth the money people! In fact it's a steal when you consider the quality. And as someone else said why buy a cheap mount for your expensive projector 5Infinitely adjustable mount This thing allows for ultimate adjustment of your projector. I did not have a ceiling joist when it needed to be, so I attached it to the back wall.It did take quite a while to get it dialed in to exactly where it needed to be, but well worth the time spent to get it set up. I'm using it with a BenQ W1070. 5Can't quite dial in horizontal position, terrible manual #1 Unless you are used to doing this kind of stuff, I'd recommend doing this in stages. The last thing you want to have happen is your hand/arm to start to get sore when you're in a precious part of the install where you really can't stop!First off, the manual said to predrill 5/32 holes 2 inches deep for the 3 bolts that screw into your wall stud. Looking at the size of the bolts, and how deep they are, I just knew it wasn't even going to cut it. And I was right. 5/32 was nowhere near a big enough of a pilot hole, and I doubt that even Hercules could screw those bolts into a wall stud with that small of a pilot hole.I drilled into the holes again, and this time used a 1/4 inch drill. Worked just fine, it was still really hard to screw in, but I was able to get it done. The manual was really terrible considering that the mount (which was in an unopened box) was partially pre-assembled, but it was done incorrectly. I thought I was missing a piece or something. Looking at the photo on the bottom of the box made it apparent what I needed to do, and honestly at that point it was enough to get it finished.I have a benq 2050a which this mount did work with, but I really wish I had gone with another mount that fits the benq better. This mount clearly wants a projector that has much thicker mounting bolts than benq uses, and the workaround to make this mount work with a benq just doesn't seem to be that great. We'll see if this thing falls off. What's really funny is that the projector is mounted directly above my head. If this thing does fall, it's going to hurt like a mother...I'm not very smart I guess! The main arm was just barely long enough to allow the power cord and hdmi cord to fit. One of my hdmi cables had too robust of a strain relief so I had to use another, but it did work.My main complaint is I can't quite get the image flush against the wall. I need to be able to rotate it just a tad, but I don't see a way to do this. It seems like the rotation is locked in by the two bolts that face you when you are looking directly at it, but I can't turn them to loosen them at this point. It's really frustrating, because if I put just a slight amount of pressure on one side of the projector it becomes level, but then it rocks back into the slightly askew projected image.I might have better luck getting those two bolts turned when I pick up a screwdriver that has allen heads on it...But man, I wish I had just simply installed a shelf. That would have been a lot easier. 3Expensive but will save you time on install In retrospect, I could have used one of the 15 dollar mounts for my specific situation. The vantage mount is likely to save you time on installation - you have more degrees of freedom, and will be able to mount on a joist with significant play either way.My biggest complaint post installation is that the joints of the mount don't arrest properly, they have significant play even with all the bolts tightened, so the projector will have to be realigned every once in a while. 4Hanging Sexy Back Not all projector mounts are created equal. This not only looks sexy, but gets the job done and specializes in dialing in your projector even if the center of gravity is off, or your screen isn't straight.Loved it so much that when I accidentally stripped my bolts when I installed it, I was forced to buy a new kit (as it's my fault I stripped the screws). And guess what... I loved the new mount just as much as the old one. Well, actually more since there were no stripped bolts. 5Robust and flexible I'm using this with my BenQ W1070 projector, mounted on the wall. This mount is strong and really really versatile; there are an incredible number of degrees of freedom. Once it was mounted into a stud in the wall, I was able to move the projector horizontally, vertically, and adjust horizontal and vertical tilt. Some of the adjustments can be a bit tedious, as they involve loosening a screw with the provided hex key, making the move, and then locking down the hex bolt again; that said, it only took me an hour of adjustment to get it right, and I doubt I'll ever have to do that again.Which brings me to the next point. This mount is incredibly sturdy. It's made out of big heavy chunks of metal; in fact, there's a chance it weighs more than the projector. It's well constructed, stays in place, and feels really sturdy. On interesting aspect of it is that it comes with a set of three long arms to connect it to your projector, and a set of three shorter arms. I think the three shorter arms would have been sufficient because the mount spacings on the BenQ projector are pretty close to each other. However, I used the long arms because it gave me an unexpected advantage: if I loosened the central bolt that holds all three arms together, I could slide the projector in the horizontal plane, which came in really handy for moving the projector an inch to the left without turning it.Overall, a really solid and flexible mount. 5
